What to Expect from NFRA at the 2026 ReFED Summit
For the National Food Recovery Association (NFRA), this year’s conference is about deepening relationships, welcoming new voices into the conversation, and sharing what’s ahead for our growing network.

We’re excited to gather with members and partners at the upcoming ReFED Summit in Charlotte, NC, and continue building momentum for the food recovery movement together.
ReFED is always an incredible opportunity to connect with leaders across the food system, exchange ideas, and strengthen the partnerships that help move edible food recovery forward. For the National Food Recovery Association (NFRA), this year’s conference is about deepening relationships, welcoming new voices into the conversation, and sharing what’s ahead for our growing network.
Here’s what NFRA members — and those interested in learning more — can expect from us at ReFED:
NFRA Member Dinner | Wednesday, May 20
Our members-only dinner is an opportunity to gather, connect, and spend meaningful time together outside the conference schedule. We’ll share updates, reflect on the work happening across our network, and create space for conversation among Food Recovery Organizations from around the country.
This has become one of our favorite moments of the conference — a chance to strengthen the relationships that make this work possible.
Time and location TBD (after the Happy Hour Reception)
NFRA Members only — RSVP by Monday, May 18, 3 PM ET
NFRA Breakfast | Thursday, May 21
Join the National Food Recovery Association for breakfast on Thursday morning at ReFED!
During breakfast, you’ll have the opportunity to meet fellow Food Recovery Organizations, hear updates about NFRA programming and initiatives, and learn how you can get involved in the work ahead.
Whether you’re a longtime member or just beginning to learn about NFRA, we’d love to have you join us. Grab a plate and pull up a chair.
Time: 8-9 AM
Location: Independence
Open to all — RSVP early to help us coordinate
1:1 Connections
Conference schedules fill up fast, but some of the most meaningful conversations happen one-on-one.
We’d love to connect with you during ReFED. Whether you want to discuss membership, partnerships, programming, advocacy, or simply learn more about NFRA, we invite you to schedule time with Sammie, Jen, Dana, Kramer, or another board member during the conference.
Open to all — Sign up early to help us coordinate schedules
Help Us Spread the Word
ReFED is also a great opportunity to introduce NFRA to organizations and individuals who may benefit from joining our network.
To make that easier, we’ve created:
Talking Points — Materials to help introduce NFRA to nonmembers
Invite Tools — A QR code you can save to your phone and quickly share with potential members
Your voice helps strengthen our collective impact and grow the visibility of food recovery nationwide.
Don’t Forget the Swag
Because every great conference needs a little fun, we’ll have new NFRA stickers and temporary tattoos available throughout the event. Be sure to grab some and help spread the food recovery spirit.
We’re looking forward to seeing many of you at ReFED and continuing to build a stronger, more connected food recovery community together. Questions? Reach out anytime at team@nationalfoodrecoveryassociation.org.
