Chef to Community Tax Credit
Our main presentation featured Lucy Vehslage, who introduced the proposed Chef to Community Tax Credit. The federal proposal would provide restaurants with a tax credit of up to $50,000 annually for donating prepared meals to verified nonprofit partners, at a proposed $7-per-meal value.
Members asked questions about eligibility, including whether frozen meals, meal delivery services, retailers, and other types of prepared-food businesses could participate. Lucy will follow up with answers and incorporate member feedback as the legislation develops.
NFRA members will also have an opportunity to sign anopen letter supporting the Chef to Community Tax Credit. A link will be shared in a follow-up email.
