Heather Thompson, Table to Table

Heather Thompson, Board Member

Heather Thompson is the Executive Director of Table to Table, a New Jersey nonprofit that bridges the gap between surplus food and food insecurity by rescuing fresh food — equivalent to more than 25 million meals annually — and delivering it directly to pantries, shelters, community kitchens, and other partner agencies supporting food-insecure individuals and families throughout northern New Jersey. For the past 25 years, she has worked in the nonprofit sector to develop strategies for growth, build meaningful relationships with partners, donors, and volunteers, and amplify the voices of underrepresented community members.

Prior to joining Table to Table in 2024, Heather served as Chief Development Officer for anti-poverty nonprofit Norwescap. She has also held leadership roles at Eva’s Village, Park Avenue Armory, and Citymeals-on-Wheels, and has provided pro bono consulting support to multiple nonprofits in New York and New Jersey.

Heather holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and professional certificates in nonprofit leadership and finance from NYU and Cornell. In addition to serving on the Board of NFRA, she is currently President of the Public Library Board in her hometown of Bloomfield, NJ, Board Secretary for the Meadowlands YMCA, and Vice Chair of the Bergen County Food Security Advisory Board.
