Douglas Silver, Board Member
Douglas Silver is the Founder and Executive Director of Gotham Food Pantry, a New York City nonprofit advancing food justice by rescuing surplus food and delivering it directly to public housing communities. Since launching Gotham in 2020, he has led the rescue and distribution of over 10 million pounds of food, built partnerships with food retailers and community groups across the five boroughs, and advocated for systemic change in food policy.
Alongside his nonprofit work, Douglas is a developmental editor, with a background in storytelling that informs his leadership and advocacy. He believes food access is a human right—and strives daily to make food justice a way of life in New York city.
